Digital Platform Streamlines Ramadan Iftar at the Holy Mosques

The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque launched a digital mechanism to organise the Ramadan iftar programme for fasting individuals at the holy mosques. Developed in collaboration with the Ehsan National Platform for Charitable Work and the Nusuk Foundation, the system is intended to enhance governance, transparency and operational efficiency in managing iftar contributions and distribution. The authority said the platform places the process on a single digital pathway from initiation to completion.

Under the process, individuals and nonprofit organisations begin by registering on the authority’s official website. Payments are then processed securely through the Ehsan platform as the channel for financial transactions linked to iftar donations. The collaboration with the Nusuk Foundation supports integration between the authority’s site and the charitable payment gateway, bringing registration and payment confirmation into one workflow. The stated objective is to maintain consistent approvals, payments and documentation across all participating entities handling iftar meals at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque.

Once a transaction is confirmed, iftar meal arrangements are finalised and a formal permit is issued to the donor. The permit forms part of a transparent, documented process that records each stage from registration to authorisation. By linking meal arrangements and permit issuance to confirmed payments within the same digital system, the authority aims to ensure a clear, traceable workflow for iftar at the holy mosques.
