Dubai Approves AED 18.3 Billion Parks Strategy With 310 New Parks
The Executive Council of Dubai also endorsed Aviation Talent 33 to create over 15,000 jobs and 4,000 training programmes, and a policy to add 60 affordable schools with about 120,000 seats by 2033.
The Executive Council of Dubai approved the Public Parks and Greenery Strategy, allocating AED 18.3 billion to more than 800 projects across the emirate, including 310 new parks and 120 open spaces. The plan aims to triple Dubai’s tree count, achieve 95 million annual park visits by 2040, and ensure 80% of residents live within a five-minute walk of a park. It will expand green areas to 187 square kilometres and use 100% recycled water for irrigation.
The Council also endorsed Aviation Talent 33, designed to create over 15,000 job opportunities and offer 4,000 training programmes. The initiative includes 30 strategic partnerships with aviation companies and focuses on boosting Emirati participation in leadership and operational roles across Dubai’s airports, including Al Maktoum International Airport.
Under the Policy to Expand and Promote Affordable High-Quality Schools, 60 new schools will be established by 2033, adding around 120,000 student seats. Incentives such as reduced fees and land leasing costs aim to attract private sector investment, supporting Dubai’s goal of ranking among the world’s top 10 cities for education quality.
The Sports Sector Strategic Plan 2033 features 75 initiatives across 17 priority sports, developed by the Dubai Sports Council to nurture young talent, support clubs, increase participation, and strengthen the sports economy.
The Executive Council also approved the establishment of a Financial Restructuring and Insolvency Court to streamline financial reorganisation and bankruptcy processes, protect creditor rights, support business continuity, and reinforce Dubai’s status as a leading global financial centre.
In healthcare, a project to expand Early Detection Healthcare Services for Emiratis targets a 40% increase in colon cancer screenings, a 50% rise in vaccination coverage, 90% patient satisfaction, and waiting times of less than one week.
