Egypt’s Minister of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation, Rania Al-Mashat, has announced the launch of two major initiatives aimed at accelerating the country’s digital transformation: an e-voting system and a performance and complaints monitoring programme.
These efforts stem from the cooperation protocol signed in 2022 between the Ministry of Planning and the Administrative Prosecution Authority, which aims to modernize data systems and optimize electoral procedures.
The performance monitoring system is set to allow citizens to file complaints through mobile applications, promote the digitalization of records, and enhance the governance of public sector promotions.
Additionally, the e-voting platform, which has already been successfully used in 16 elections—including for the Musicians’ Syndicate—offers a more transparent, efficient, and environmentally sustainable alternative to traditional paper-based voting systems.
