Egypt Blocks Roblox Over Child Online Safety Concerns

The Supreme Council for Media Regulation has blocked the Roblox game in Egypt, with the National Telecom Regulatory Authority coordinating the implementation of the decision.

Essam Al Amir, Vice President of the council, said the move came in response to concerns over the risks of internet and social media use among children. The measure was discussed during a parliamentary session focused on online child safety, with Roblox identified as a platform requiring immediate action.

The council confirmed it is working closely with the National Telecom Regulatory Authority to carry out the technical steps needed to enforce the block.
