Egypt Elected Member of Committee on World Food Security
Egypt will have a major voice in the Bureau of the Committee on World Food Security - which develops policy recommendations to the United Nations General Assembly - until 2023.
Egypt has been elected as a Member Country of the Bureau of the Committee on World Food Security (CFS), as part of their participation in the Food and Agriculture Organization in Rome, Italy.
The CFS reports to the United Nations General Assembly through the Economic and Social Council, and uses an inclusive approach to develop and endorse policy recommendations pertaining to food security. As of October 2021, there are 133 Member Countries who are part of the CFS.
The Bureau is the executive arm of the CFS, and is made up of a chairperson and 12 member countries, which includes two nations from each region of the world. Egypt will have a voice in the Bureau's decision-making until 2023.
