Egypt-France Trade Reaches USD 2.9 Billion in 2024
Egypt targets USD 1 billion in French investments in 2025 after trade volume grew to USD 2.9 billion in 2024.

Trade between Egypt and France reached USD 2.9 billion in 2024, marking a 14.7% increase from USD 2.5 billion the previous year, according to figures released by Egypt’s Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).
The announcement coincides with French President Emmanuel Macron’s visit to Egypt this week, during which he met with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi at the Al-Ittihadiya Presidential Palace. Macron’s visit includes participation in a trilateral summit alongside Jordanian King Abdullah II to discuss the crisis in Gaza, as well as wider bilateral cooperation between Egypt and France, including financial and strategic matters.
Egypt’s key exports to France included electrical appliances, fertilizers, mineral fuels, ready-made garments, and agricultural produce, while major imports from France included aviation components, vehicles, machinery, and dairy products.
Looking ahead, Egypt is targeting USD 1 billion in new French investments during 2025, focusing on key sectors such as renewable energy, transportation, pharmaceuticals, food production, communications and IT, engineering industries, automotive manufacturing, and chemicals. This initiative aims to bring total French investments in Egypt to approximately USD 8 billion.
As part of its investment strategy, the Egyptian government plans to present a range of projects and incentives to French investors, while also preparing to sign agreements in fields such as higher education, logistics, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and industrial development.
