Egypt & Kuwait Pen USD 2.5M Feasibility Study for Egypt-Sudan Railway
Costing USD 2.5 million, the feasibility study will examine the possibility of a 570 km railway linking Egypt and Sudan.
The Ministry of International Cooperation has signed an agreement with the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) to study the feasibility of a new railway between Egypt and Sudan. Costing USD 2.5 million, the feasibility study will examine the possibility of a 570 km railway linking Egypt and Sudan, which would improve preferential trade access between Egypt and its neighbouring nations, and protect the region from the negative effects of any potential global crises.
The KFAED has cooperated with Egypt since 1980 and helped develop 54 projects in that time at a total cost of USD 3.6 billion, including health, transportation, and sanitation projects.
