Applications Open for Alexandria Theatre Festival in September

Applications are now open for Egyptian theatre groups looking to take part in the 15th edition of the Alexandria International Theatre Festival – Theatre Without Fund. Set to run in the second half of September 2025, the festival is welcoming submissions until August 10th. A fixture on Alexandria’s cultural calendar, the festival has built a reputation as a platform for independent voices, experimental productions, and fresh theatrical ideas.

It continues to draw young performers and theatre-makers from across Egypt, with an emphasis on innovation and exchange. This year’s edition comes under the patronage of Egypt’s Minister of Culture, Prof. Dr Ahmed Fouad Henno, and is led by a team including Prof. Dr Gamal Yacout as Founder and Honorary President, artist Islam Wassouf as Festival Director, and artist Ibrahim El-Forn as Festival President.
