Egypt Reaffirms Firm Stance Against Displacement of Gazans
This follows Netanyahu's claims that the high casualty rate in Gaza is to be blamed on Gazans being unable to move into Sinai.
A high-level Egyptian source has reiterated Egypt's strong rejection of Israeli attempts to displace Gaza Strip residents into Egyptian territory, emphasizing the nation's unwavering support for the Palestinian cause.
In a statement released to the media, the source claimed that Egypt has maintained the highest levels of self-restraint since the beginning of the conflict, in order to prevent the region from entering a brutal cycle of violence. This statement follows Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's claims that the high casualty rate in Gaza is to be blamed on residents being unable to move into Sinai. Despite international calls, Israel has kept its Gaza crossings closed.
The Egyptian source also dismissed allegations of tunnels within Egyptian territory as "entirely false." Egypt, alongside Qatar and the United States, recently renewed their calls for a ceasefire.
