Egyptians’ Olympic Medal Rewards Increased After Paris 2024 Victories

The Egyptian Olympic Committee has announced an increase in medal rewards following Egypt's achievements at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. The updated rewards are now EGP five million for a gold medal, EGP four million for a silver medal, and EGP three million for a bronze medal.

This adjustment comes after notable performances by Egyptian athletes: Ahmed El Gendy won Egypt’s first gold medal at the Games in the Modern Pentathlon, setting a new Olympic record with 1,555 points, surpassing his previous record of 1,516 points set during the semi-finals.

In women’s weightlifting, Sara Ahmed Samir earned a silver medal in the 81 KG weight class, lifting a total of 268 KG. Additionally, Mohamed El-Sayed brought home Egypt’s first medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics, securing a bronze in fencing after defeating Hungarian Tibor Andraszewski.
