Egypt Releases One Million Doses of Locally-Produced COVID-19 Vaccine
The first million doses of the Egypt-made Sinovac/VACSERA vaccine against COVID-19 has been distributed to over 600 vaccination centres nationwide.
The first one million doses of Egypt's locally-produced Sinovac/VACSERA COVID-19 vaccine has been released after the Ministry of Health and Population put it through a series of required evaluation tests.
The vaccine was produced as a result of an agreement between Chinese biopharmaceutical company Sinovac and the Egyptian Holding Company for Biological Products and Vaccines. Egypt plans to create 40 million doses of the vaccine at VACSERA factories by the end of 2021, and has distributed the first million to 657 vaccination centres across the nation.
