Egypt’s Engineering Exports Surpass USD 5B for the First Time in 2024
Egypt’s top export destinations include Europe, Asia and Africa, particularly in cables and automotive components.
Egypt’s engineering exports have reached USD 5.1 billion in the first 11 months of 2024, up 21.6% compared to the same period in 2023. This milestone beats the previous record of USD 4.2 billion and reflects strong growth in sectors like cables, automotive components, electrical appliances, and transportation equipment.
Europe remains the top destination for Egyptian engineering products, with strong demand from the UK, Turkey, Germany, and others. In Asia, countries such as Saudi Arabia and Qatar also saw increased imports, while African markets like Nigeria, Kenya, and Morocco also reported higher demand.
Sherif El-Sayyad, chairman of the Engineering Export Council of Egypt, says the government is ambitiously targeting USD 145 billion worth of goods exports by 2030.
