Egypt's Food Exports Increase by 14% Reaching USD 5.1 Billion in 2023
Arab countries were the leading importers of Egyptian food, making up an amount of USD 2.7 billion of the total export value.
According to a report from the Food Export Council (FEC), Egypt’s food exports have increased by 14% in 2023, reaching a value of USD 5.1 billion, up from USD 4.5 billion in 2022.
Arab countries were the leading importers of Egyptian food with USD 2.7 billion of the total export value. Meanwhile, the European Union came in second place, importing goods at a value of USD 884 million.
In 2022, Egypt’s agricultural exports exceeded 6.5 million tons with a value of approximately USD 3.3 billion for the first time.
The Egyptian government aims to further increase its food exports by an additional 10% to reach a total value of USD 5.6 billion by 2024.
