Egypt’s Handball Team Smashes Records With African Championship Win
With this victory, the Egyptian national team is the second biggest winner at the tournament, falling just under Tunisia with 10 championship titles.

Egypt’s national handball team, the Pharaohs, has reigned supreme at the finals of the 2022 African Men’s Handball Championship in 6th of October city, defeating Cape Verde 37-12 and breaking the record for most goals scored during a finals match in the tournament (which was previously held by the Pharaohs as well, when they won 31-28 against Tunisia in 2004).
Handball player Omar El-Wakil was named ‘Man of the Hour’ due to his out-of-this-world performance. This is Egypt’s 8th African Men’s Handball Championship title overall, and the second they’ve won in a row.
