Egypt’s Largest Oil Expo Attracts More Than 500 Exhibitors
Global industry giants convene to identify opportunities in Egypt, North Africa and East Mediterranean’s oil and gas sectors.
The sixth edition of the Egypt Petroleum Show (EGYPS), one of the foremost oil expos in the MENA region, is being held in Cairo between February 13th and February 15th, attracting over 500 exhibitors and around 32,000 attendees from across the world.
Hosted at the Egypt International Exhibition Centre, this expo provides a crucial opportunity for dialogue, partnerships, business deals and exploration of solutions and strategies to reshape global energy markets.
Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El-Molla announced that Egypt's oil exports grew to reach USD 18.2 billion in 2022, in addition to achieving a surplus in the oil trade balance for the third year in a row. The ministry confirmed that total investments in Egypt's oil and gas sectors reached USD 74 billion from 2014 to 2020.
Egypt aims to become a regional hub for the trade of oil and liquefied natural gas following the recent major discovery of the Zohr gas field in the Mediterranean which holds an estimated 30 trillion cubic feet of gas.
