Egypt’s Ready-Made Garments Exports Reach USD 262 Million in March
In light of this increase, the Ready-Made Garments Export Council has raised its annual export target to USD 3.8 billion, setting a minimum growth expectation of 35%.

Egypt’s exports of ready-made garments reached approximately USD 262 million in March 2025, marking a 27% year-on-year increase from USD 206 million in March 2024, according to figures released by the Ready-Made Garments Export Council.
In response to this growth, the council has revised its annual export target to USD 3.8 billion, up from previous projections. The new goal represents a minimum expected growth rate of 35% for the year.
The strongest monthly growth was recorded in February 2025, when exports rose by 35% compared to the same period last year. January, by contrast, saw a more modest year-on-year increase of 11%.
The United States remains Egypt’s largest export destination for garments, importing USD 102 million worth of products in March alone. European markets followed with USD 66 million in imports, while Arab countries collectively imported USD 40 million. Other international markets contributed an additional USD 53 million, and exports to non-Arab African countries stood at approximately USD 1.2 million.
Looking ahead, the council has set a target of USD 12 billion in ready-made garments exports by 2031. To achieve this, the sector will focus on expanding into underrepresented African and Asian markets. Efforts will also include the continued development of dedicated textile and garment industrial zones in Fayoum and Minya, intended to boost production capacity and attract investment.
