Egyptian Food Bank’s Mobile Kitchen to Provide Hot Meals Across Egypt
The mobile kitchens will provide over 68,000 meals a month to those most in need.
The Egyptian Food Bank has announced the launch of its ‘Tekya Al Mahrousa’ mobile kitchen, which will provide over 68,000 hot meals per month to those most in need across the country. The project will help to plug the gap in food security across 16 of Egypt’s governorates, providing sustenance to low-income families and individuals, and reducing the material burden faced by many.
Meals prepared in the kitchens will include all major food groups, fulfilling the nutritional needs of those unable to either afford or prepare their own food, such as the elderly and disabled population.
The project calls for individuals and institutions to contribute with financial support, or by volunteering at the mobile kitchens, facilitating the broader mission of the Egyptian Food Bank to provide sufficient food for the whole population, most often by providing non-perishable dry foods such as rice, pasta, and dried legumes, as well as meat and vegetables.
