Egyptian Railways Adds Extra Trains for Eid Al Fitr Travel Rush
Egyptian National Railways has announced expanded routes between Cairo, Aswan and Alexandria.

Egyptian National Railways (ENR) has introduced additional train schedules for the Eid Al Fitr holiday to accommodate the increased demand for travel, particularly on Upper Egypt routes.
The new services include a special Talgo train (2040) running from Cairo to Aswan, departing at 20:15 and arriving at 08:10, operating between March 25th and April 10th, 2025. Its return service, Talgo train (2041), will run from Aswan to Cairo, departing at 16:50 and arriving at 04:50, from March 26th to April 11th, 2025.
Two Spanish trains will also operate on the same route, with Train 1942 leaving Cairo at 22:50 and reaching Aswan at 11:50 between March 25th and April 10th, 2025. Meanwhile, Train 1943 will travel in the opposite direction, departing Aswan at 18:00 and arriving in Cairo at 06:50, between March 26th and April 11th, 2025.
ENR has also introduced special conditioned trains to facilitate travel during the holiday period. Train 1938 will operate from Cairo to Aswan at 21:50, arriving at 10:05, running from March 25th to April 10th, 2025. Its return service, Train 1939, will depart from Aswan to Cairo at 22:30 and arrive at 11:15, from March 26th to April 11th, 2025. From March 26th to April 11th, 2025, an additional conditioned train (1940) will depart Cairo at 00:35 and reach Aswan at 12:30, while Train 1941 will depart Aswan at 21:30 and arrive in Cairo at 10:25.
For Alexandria-Aswan travel, a VIP train service has also been introduced. Train 1936 will operate from Alexandria to Aswan, departing on March 27th, 2025, at 15:20 and arriving in Aswan at 06:20. Meanwhile, Train 1937 will run from Aswan to Alexandria on April 3rd, 2025, departing at 09:00 and arriving at 00:50.
