Egyptians Arriving to Saudi by Land Eligible for Emergency Visas
The measure is designed to allow Egyptian citizens to transit through the Kingdom and fly home from Saudi airports.
The Egyptian Embassy in Riyadh announced that Egyptian nationals arriving at Saudi borders by land from neighbouring countries are now eligible for exceptional emergency entry visas. The measure is designed to allow citizens to transit through the Kingdom and fly home from Saudi airports following widespread airspace closures in the Middle East.
The decision comes as regional aviation remains heavily disrupted due to escalating tensions. Coordinated military strikes and retaliatory attacks have forced several countries, including Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait and the UAE, to partially or fully close their airspace.
According to the embassy’s statement, the visa-on-arrival will facilitate the return of thousands of travelers who have been stranded after EgyptAir and other regional carriers suspended flights to over a dozen cities, including Dubai, Doha, Bahrain and Amman.
