Everything You Need to Know About Flights in the UAE Right Now

Air travel across the United Arab Emirates has faced disruptions in recent days following regional airspace closures amid heightened tensions in the Middle East. Major airports, including Dubai International (DXB), Dubai World Central – Al Maktoum (DWC), Abu Dhabi International (AUH), and Sharjah International (SHJ), temporarily suspended flights, affecting both domestic and international schedules.

As of March 2nd, 2026, authorities have begun a gradual resumption of operations. Dubai Airports and Abu Dhabi Airports are running a limited number of flights, with passengers advised to travel only if contacted by their airline with confirmed departures. The GCAA is coordinating special flights for stranded passengers, while airlines including Emirates and flydubai are reaching out to affected travellers with updates, rebooking options, and refunds where needed.

Passengers are urged to check flight status online, keep contact details updated, and wait for direct notifications before heading to the airport. Authorities and airlines continue to monitor the situation closely, with further updates expected as operations gradually return to normal.

Dubai Airports – Limited Flight Resumption

Flights are resuming from Dubai International (DXB) and Dubai World Central – Al Maktoum (DWC) starting the evening of March 2nd, 2026. Operations are restarting gradually and passengers should only go to the airport if they have been contacted by their airline.

Abu Dhabi Airports – Partial Operations Resumed

Abu Dhabi Airports confirmed that operations have partially resumed at AUH as of Monday, March 2, in coordination with relevant authorities and airline partners. Passengers are advised to check with their airlines for updated flight schedules before travelling to the airport.
