Eid Al Fitr & Eid Al Adha Dates Forecasted in the UAE for 2026
Astronomical calculations point to potential Eid holiday dates in the UAE for 2026, pending moon sighting.
Astronomical calculations indicate that Eid Al Fitr in the United Arab Emirates is likely to begin on Friday, March 20th, 2026, which would place the public holiday between Friday, March 20th and Sunday, March 22nd. As with all Islamic holidays, the final dates remain subject to official moon sighting and confirmation by authorities.
The exact duration of the Eid Al Fitr break depends on when Ramadan begins and whether the lunar month lasts 29 or 30 days. If Ramadan starts on February 18th and lasts 30 days, the holiday could extend until Monday, March 23rd. If Ramadan is observed for 29 days, Eid may begin on either Thursday, March 19th or Friday, March 20th, resulting in holiday periods ranging from three to four days when combined with the weekend. Unlike some other public holidays, Eid breaks in the UAE are not adjusted to create extended weekends.
Later in the year, Eid Al Adha is expected to fall in late May. Astronomical projections place Arafat Day on Tuesday, May 26th, 2026, followed by Eid Al Adha from Wednesday, May 27th to Friday, May 29th. When combined with the weekend, this would result in a six-day break. As with Eid Al Fitr, these dates will be officially confirmed closer to the time based on moon sighting.
