Film-tech Hackathon Tackles Challenges in Saudi Film Industry
Participants of the Filmathon will benefit from mentorship, networking opportunities, workshops and co-working spaces.

The Saudi Film Commission has launched the second edition of Filmathon under the theme ‘Tasawwar’ (‘Imagine’), aiming to enhance innovation in filmmaking by nurturing local creative and technical talents. The initiative focuses on developing tech-driven solutions for challenges in the Saudi film industry.
Announced via the Film Commission’s official X account, Filmathon will feature an intensive training programme, including a virtual boot camp and an in-person hackathon, where participants will develop prototype solutions to advance various aspects of film production. The initiative also seeks to attract SMEs, investors, and venture capitalists to engage with emerging film-tech startups.
Participants will benefit from mentorship, networking opportunities, skill-building workshops, and co-working spaces. The program offers specialised tracks in digital transformation, production services, marketing, distribution, and the future of filmmaking.
