First Direct Flights Launched Between Egypt & Bosnia
The number of Bosnian tourists travelling to Egypt has been steadily increasing since 2016, reaching 13,435 in 2018.
Direct flights between Bosnia and Egypt have been launched as part of efforts to boost tourism between the two countries. The direct flights are now operational between Hurghada in Egypt, and Sarajevo and Banja Luka in Bosnia, with ticket prices starting at USD 90.
This development follows a series of events held in Bosnia-Herzegovina to showcase prominent tourist destinations in Egypt. The number of Bosnian tourists travelling to Egypt has been steadily increasing since 2016, reaching 13,435 in 2018.
The announcement came after a meeting between President Sisi and Denis Biščević, Chair of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, marking the first high-level visit from Bosnia to Egypt in over 14 years. These efforts to enhance tourism align with broader initiatives aimed at fostering trade relations between Egypt and Bosnia. Egypt holds a strong relationship with Bosnia, having been among the earliest countries to establish diplomatic ties with Bosnia and Herzegovina.
