Global Space Debris Conference to Be Held in Riyadh in January 2026

The second International Space Debris Conference will be held on January 26th to the 27th, 2026, according to the Saudi Space Agency.

The conference will serve as a platform for international dialogue and cooperation, with a focus on developing joint policies and sustainable solutions to the increasing challenge of orbital debris. The agenda will feature discussions on emerging technologies and long-term strategies for maintaining the safety and sustainability of the space environment.

A key component of the conference is the launch of the DebriSolver Competition, a global challenge aimed at generating multidisciplinary approaches to space debris, encompassing technical, regulatory, economic, and social dimensions.

The first edition of the conference, held in Riyadh in 2024, welcomed attendees from more than 50 countries, including representatives from major global companies and international organisations. It concluded with a set of recommendations to raise awareness and promote coordinated efforts in managing orbital debris.
