Hail Accredited as a WHO Healthy City

The city of Hail has been accredited as a Healthy City by the World Health Organization, following its completion of the programme’s requirements.

The designation was marked during a ceremony held on April 17th, 2026, attended by Prince Abdulaziz bin Saad bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Hail Region.

According to the Saudi Press Agency, the accreditation reflects the city’s efforts to meet international standards related to public health and community wellbeing.

A presentation at the event outlined Hail’s progress toward achieving the designation, highlighting initiatives focused on promoting healthier lifestyles and improving public health outcomes.

The development was framed within the broader objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, which includes a focus on enhancing quality of life and strengthening health systems across the Kingdom.

Officials said the accreditation recognises the steps taken to align local programmes with the World Health Organization’s Healthy Cities criteria, based on documented efforts in health promotion and community initiatives.
