Oracle to Train 150,000 Egyptians in Cloud Computing
The initiative aims to prepare digital talent for local and global job markets.
Oracle, a US-based technology company specialising in cloud computing and enterprise software, is launching an initiative to train 150,000 young people in Egypt on cloud computing technologies.
The programme was outlined following a meeting with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, which is working to expand cooperation with the company on digital transformation and capacity building.
The discussions brought together Raafat Hindi, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, alongside Walid Ahmed, Vice President for Oracle’s cloud applications in the region, and Tamer Gamal, Technology Director at Oracle Egypt. According to the ministry, the initiative forms part of broader efforts to equip young people with job-ready skills across technology fields, aligned with labour market requirements.
Officials said the training will focus on cloud computing as a key area supporting Egypt’s digital transformation strategy, alongside ongoing projects to develop digital infrastructure and services across government sectors.
The ministry also highlighted plans to expand data centres and position Egypt as a regional hub for the data industry, while encouraging investment in advanced technologies.
Walid Ahmed said the initiative reflects Oracle’s commitment to supporting the growth of Egypt’s digital economy through cloud and artificial intelligence technologies.
Both sides agreed to organise a workshop to explore further cooperation in digital transformation and capacity building, as part of efforts to strengthen Egypt’s technology ecosystem and workforce development.
