Hamas Accuses Israel of Ceasefire Violations & Puts Release of Hostage
The planned release, originally set for this weekend, was part of a broader cease-fire deal intended to remain in effect until March 2nd.

Hamas has indefinitely postponed the release of Israeli hostages, citing violations of the cease-fire agreement by Israel. The group did not provide specific details regarding the nature of these violations. The planned release, originally set for this weekend, was part of a broader cease-fire deal intended to remain in effect until March 2nd.
Under the agreement, Hamas was to release 25 living hostages and the bodies of eight who were killed, in exchange for 1,500 Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli custody. Approximately half of the scheduled exchanges have taken place so far.
Israel's defense minister’s spokesman condemned Hamas’s decision, calling it a "complete violation" of the cease-fire and hostage deal. In response, Israel's military has been placed on high alert, with officials warning that the country would not allow a repeat of the events of October 7th.
