Health Insurance Plan for Senior Citizens Launches in Dubai

A new health insurance plan aimed at senior residents in Dubai has been introduced by Dubai Insurance in collaboration with Aster DM Healthcare. Named ‘Vibrance Senior’, the plan is designed to offer a wide range of medical services, from preventive care to advanced treatment, addressing the growing healthcare needs of the elderly population in the city.

The initiative is being touted as a cost-effective solution for seniors, with representatives noting that similar health insurance schemes typically start at AED 25,000 annually. The annual premiums for ‘Vibrance Senior’ range from AED 16,693 to AED 27,591, depending on the individual’s age. Those between 65 and 69 years old will pay AED 16,693, while those aged 70 to 74 will pay AED 22,146. Seniors between 75 and 79 years old will face an annual premium of AED 27,591. These premiums are subject to adjustment based on an individual’s medical history, with the final costs being indicative of the level of care required.

The plan offers two coverage options: one with an annual pharmacy limit of AED 3,000, and the other with a higher limit of AED 5,000. In addition to these benefits, the policy also includes a shared annual coverage limit of AED 150,000, free health screening at home within the first 30 days of policy activation, and emergency coverage.

The insurance plan offers seniors access to telehealth services for consultations and follow-up care from home. These services are available 24/7 through an app or phone, allowing seniors to receive timely medical assistance without the need for frequent hospital visits. The emphasis on teleconsultations is expected to help reduce unnecessary outpatient visits and hospital admissions while promoting early diagnosis and preventive healthcare.
