Helwan University is moving forward with plans to establish a Faculty of Agriculture, with classes set to begin at the start of the next academic year.

The announcement comes amid Helwan University’s broader growth, including its advancements in artificial intelligence, data science and engineering. The institution, which houses over 220,000 students across 22 colleges and three institutes, has been integrating new programs to meet evolving academic and industry needs.

Founded in 1975, the university’s roots trace back further, with faculties that existed before its formal establishment. Recent expansions include the Faculty of Nutritional Sciences and the Institute of Hospital Management.

During a recent meeting with officials from Iraq’s Future University, Helwan University leadership highlighted their academic achievements and discussed opportunities for collaboration, including joint research and exchange programs.
