Hurghada Youth Film Festival Honours Filmmaker Sandra Nashaat
The tribute will include a screening of Sandra's graduation project from the Higher Institute of Cinema starring Mona Zaki.
The Hurghada Youth Film Festival will honour Egyptian director Sandra Nashaat during the opening ceremony of its second edition, scheduled to take place from September 19th to the 24th. The tribute will include a screening of Sandra's graduation project from the Higher Institute of Cinema, 'Aakhir Shita', starring Mona Zaki and Dalia Ibrahim, followed by a discussion with the festival audience.
Nashaat began her career as an assistant to renowned directors such as the late Dr. Samir Seif and Youssef Chahine. Her directorial debut came with 'Mabrouk and Bellbell', followed by films like 'Haramia Fi KG2', 'Haramia Fi Thailand', 'Masgoun Transit' and 'Al-Maslaha'.
Last year, in 2023, she was honoured by the Swedish Embassy in Cairo as one of the pioneers of change in Egyptian cinema.
