Following performances in Paris, Mexico City, New York and London, Marvels of Saudi Orchestra - a celebration of the Kingdom’s musical heritage - will continue its world tour in Tokyo on November 22nd.
The performance, to be held at Tokyo Opera City, will serve as an example of cultural exchange, uniting the musical traditions of Saudi Arabia and Japan. The evening will feature a collaboration between the Saudi National Orchestra and Choir and Japan’s renowned Gagaku Orchestra Imperial Court Music, alongside the Orchestra Academy of Tokyo College of Music. The fusion of Saudi and Japanese musical traditions will blend classical compositions with modern interpretations. The evening will also have a special guest appearance from renowned Japanese guitarist HOTEI.
“Music has a unique ability to transcend borders and create connections,” Paul Pacifico, CEO of the Saudi Music Commission, said. “Through the ‘Marvels of Saudi Orchestra,’ we are thrilled to share the cultural heritage of Saudi Arabia with the world, fostering deeper understanding and friendship through shared artistry.”
This performance in Tokyo is part of a larger initiative by the Saudi Music Commission, an arm of the Ministry of Culture, to promote Saudi Arabia’s cultural heritage globally.
