Middle East’s Largest Salmon Production Facility Inaugurated in Hail
The 10,000-square-metre facility is set to produce 100,000 tonnes of salmon per year.
Prince Abdulaziz bin Saad bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Hail, has officially launched the Excellence Center for Salmon Production, which now stands as the largest salmon production hub in the Middle East.
The 10,000-square-metre facility, equipped with advanced marine technologies like recirculating aquaculture systems and integrated aquaponics, is set to produce 100,000 tonnes of salmon annually.
The initiative, a partnership between the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture and King Abdulaziz University, aims to reduce Saudi Arabia’s reliance on salmon imports; currently at 20,000 tonnes annually.
