Ministry of Islamic Affairs Launches 27th King Salman Quran Competitio
Preliminary qualifiers are underway nationwide with finals to be held in Riyadh under the patronage of King Salman.
The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance launched the 27th edition of the local competition for the King Salman bin Abdulaziz Award for memorising, reciting and interpreting the Holy Quran, open to boys and girls and offering prizes totalling SAR seven million across six categories.
The competition continues a national programme that has run for more than two decades and is held under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz.
The ministry directed preliminary qualifiers to begin across all regions of the Kingdom in preparation for the final rounds in Riyadh, with dedicated ceremonies planned for boys and girls. The event is organised by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, which oversees local and international Quranic competitions.
According to the ministry, the competition consists of six branches, including full memorisation of the Quran and memorisation of consecutive parts, with emphasis on proper recitation and interpretation of vocabulary. Total prize money of SAR seven million will be distributed among winners across these categories.
