Ministry of Social Solidarity Leads Pan-Arab Drug Prevention Programme
The Arab region’s first drug prevention initiative will address methods of treatment, social awareness, precaution and policy changes.
Egypt’s Ministry of Social Solidarity is working with the Arab League and the United Nations to establish the Middle East’s first region-wide drug prevention initiative. The initiative is set to include new policies and guidelines that will enable Arab countries to combat drug abuse.
The decision was based on the Ministry of Social Solidarity’s suggestion to the Arab League during its 40th summit in 2020, and is part of a nationwide vision prioritizing curbing drug abuse rates. The newly established initiative will also address methods of treatment, social awareness, precaution and policy changes to offer a holistic solution to the issue.
