Mo Salah Breaks Record for Most Goal-Assists in English Premier League
Salah has now both scored and assisted in 37 Premier League matches, with 247 goal involvements over his 277-match career.
Egyptian football star Mohamed Salah has once again broken an English Premier League record after scoring two goals and assisting a teammate in Liverpool’s dramatic 3-3 draw against Newcastle United at St. James’ Park on December 4th.
Salah now holds the record of the most single games in which he both scored and assisted, with this past match marking the 37th occasion, surpassing Wayne Rooney’s long-standing record of 36. Notably, the Egyptian winger has played 214 fewer games than the ex-Manchester United and Everton striker, who played nearly 500 Premier League matches.
In the 2024/25 season thus far, Salah has both scored and assisted in six games, equaling his own personal record from 2017/18 and 2021/22 campaigns. And with 24 games left to play this season, the new record of 37 looks likely to be pushed further from Rooney’s previous effort.
Salah now boasts 247 goal involvements in his 277-match Premier League career, four goals short of becoming only the seventh player in the competition’s history to reach the prestigious figure of 250.
