The platform aims to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health issues, and increase access to services and support.
The first national e-platform for mental health services and addiction treatment in Egypt received 66,000 visitors in its first year. The platform, which is available for free on the Ministry of Health and Population’s official website, aims to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health issues, while increasing access to services and support for the communities they serve.
The platform was first launched in March 2022, and is the result of a partnership between the General Secretariat for Mental Health and Addiction Treatment, the National Information Center at the Ministry of Health and Population, the World Health Organisation, and Canada’s University of British Columbia.
