New Dubai Initiative Waives Parking Fees for Senior Emiratis
People with disabilities will be exempt from road tolls, parking, public transport fares, and vehicle registration and renewal fees, with 50% off taxi fares and driver licensing fees.
Dubai will waive parking fees for Emirati senior citizens and exempt people with disabilities from paying road toll charges under a partnership between the Roads and Transport Authority and the Ministry of Family, supporting the UAE’s Family First programme during the Year of Family. A series of community initiatives is set to roll out as part of the drive to use transport services to improve quality of life in the emirate. Emirati senior citizens aged 60 and above will be exempt from parking fees, with discounted public transport fares offered to senior Emiratis and students. People with disabilities will be exempt from Salik toll fees, parking charges, public transport fares, and vehicle registration and renewal fees, alongside a 50% reduction in taxi fares and driver licensing fees. Authorities did not say when the exemptions and discounts would take effect.
