New Media Training Initiative Targets 900 Saudi Job Seekers
The programme combines certification, specialised English and practical training to align graduates with evolving newsroom and digital production demands.
Saudi Arabia’s Human Resources Development Fund formed a partnership with the Saudi Press Agency Academy for News Training to train 900 job seekers for technical and specialised media careers in Riyadh.
The agreement provides a set of 12 month programmes that include specialised media career days, English language programmes tailored to the media and communications sector, and professional certification across various media fields. The structure is designed to build sector specific capabilities while aligning training content with workplace needs in media organisations. The focus areas cover both technical competencies and creative development to prepare participants for roles that require up to date production, editorial and digital skills.
Programme delivery will run over a full year for each cohort, with participants receiving targeted instruction intended to enhance professional skills and improve the quality of media performance. The English language component is tailored to media and communications usage, while the certification track addresses recognised standards across different media disciplines. Together, these elements aim to equip trainees with practical tools that reflect current workflows and content demands in the sector.
The initiative is expected to broaden employment opportunities for job seekers, support private sector growth by providing qualified personnel to media related employers, and promote digital and media innovation. By concentrating on technical and creative skill sets over a sustained training period, the partnership seeks to align graduate capabilities with evolving industry requirements. The combined approach of career days, sector specific language training and professional certification is positioned to address multiple entry points into media roles, from newsroom and production environments to digital content and related technical functions.
