New Public Library Will Be Established in Giza’s Al Omraniyah

A new public library will be established in Giza’s Al Omraniyah neighbourhood, following an agreement signed between Major General Ahmed Rashid, Governor of Giza, and Mohammed Al Taifi, Director of the Egyptian Public Libraries Fund.

The library’s services will include cultural and recreational activities and events, in combination with schools and universities, encouraging students of all ages to benefit from the new facility. There will also be areas dedicated to the elderly and young children. It is hoped that the new public library will be an exemplary model for further development of public libraries in other cities within the Governorate of Giza, and across the country.

The addition of this latest library is part of the government’s Sustainable Development Goals, whilst also aiming to improve educational capabilities in local communities, particularly for women and girls.
