New Recreational Plazas Open in Lehbab & Nazwah

Dubai Municipality has opened new recreational plazas in Lehbab 1, Lehbab 2 and Nazwah, completing development works spanning more than 330,000 square feet. The upgrades introduce sports courts, outdoor fitness equipment, running tracks, children’s play areas with rubber flooring, seating zones and landscaped surroundings, alongside enhanced safety measures to improve accessibility and usability.
The projects form part of the Dubai Countryside and Rural Areas Development Master Plan, which aims to strengthen services and amenities in rural and desert communities. The initiative also supports the Dubai 2040 Parks and Afforestation Strategy, which targets the development of more than 630 parks across the emirate, and aligns with the ‘Year of the Family’.
At Lehbab 1, the plaza includes two football pitches, a volleyball court, a basketball court, a running track, a dedicated warm-up and multi-use area, outdoor fitness equipment and two children’s play zones with rubber flooring.
Lehbab 2 features a football pitch, volleyball and basketball courts, a running track with fitness equipment and a children’s play area. In Nazwah, works covered ground levelling and surface redesign, in addition to football, volleyball and basketball courts, a running track and a children’s play zone. Landscaping improvements were introduced across all three sites to enhance the surrounding environment.
As part of the wider master plan, Dubai Municipality is also developing parks in Margham and Al Lisaili. Planned features include football pitches, sand running tracks, landscaped seating areas, decorative planting, advanced lighting systems and smart surveillance cameras. Volleyball courts have already been completed in the first phase.
