New Speed Limits to Take Effect on Key Abu Dhabi Roads
Abu Dhabi will implement revised speed limits on three major roads from February 9th.
Revised speed limits will take effect on three major roads in Abu Dhabi from February 9th, 2026, following confirmation by the Joint Traffic Safety Committee.
One of the key changes applies to the stretch between the Bani Yas Interchange and the Bridges Complex, where the maximum speed limit will be reduced from 140 km/h to 120 km/h in both directions. The committee identified this corridor as part of targeted adjustments covering high-traffic routes across the emirate.
Al Rawdah Road (E30) is also included among the roads where updated speed limits will be enforced, alongside another major corridor specified by authorities. Motorists using these routes are advised to take note of the new limits, which will apply from the stated date.
The Joint Traffic Safety Committee said the changes form part of ongoing measures to improve road safety and traffic management.
Drivers have been urged to comply with the revised limits once they come into effect to ensure safer travel across Abu Dhabi’s road network.
