Nobel Laureate Ahmed Zewail's Possession Will Be Housed in New Museum
The new museum will house personal belongings and awards of the Egyptian Nobel prize-winning chemist Ahmed Zewail.
Pioneering Egyptian chemist and Nobel prize winner Ahmed Zewail will be celebrated in a new museum in Zewail City of Science and Technology in Giza.
Deema Faham, Zewail’s widow, donated a collection of his awards spanning three decades as well as his personal belongings to be displayed at the museum. The chemist’s signature ultra-fast laser machine, which earned him the Nobel prize in 1999, will also be shown there.
Amongst Zewail’s many contributions to science, the Nobel laureate founded the Zewail City of Science and Technology in 2000, which includes a research institute and a university that began hosting students in 2013. The museum will begin construction immediately according to Mahmoud Abd Rabo, the president of Zewail City.
