Online Reservations Open for Mosque-Linked Community Spaces in Egypt
Reservations for mosque annexes are now available online through Egypt’s Digital Platform.
Reservations for mosque annexes have been made available online through the Egypt Digital Platform, allowing applicants to apply for spaces designated for activities that do not conflict with mosque sanctity.
According to the Ministry of Awqaf, permitted uses include Quran memorisation offices, nurseries, sewing workshops, educational centres such as language and computer training, speech and skills development services, as well as clinics and medical centres.
Applicants are required to submit an online request specifying the intended activity and pay a seriousness deposit of EGP 1,000. The deposit is refunded if the application is rejected, while approved requests will have the amount deducted from the required security payment.
The deposit is not refundable if the applicant withdraws or fails to complete the process. Following approval, applicants must finalise contracting procedures within 15 days, including payment of a security equivalent to three months of the usufruct fee determined by the relevant committee.
Each annex is publicly advertised for 15 days from the date of the first application, with decisions issued within one month after the submission period closes. Allocation is conducted through a public auction at the directorate responsible for the annex, limited to applicants who meet the specified requirem ents.
