Over EGP 6 Billion Disbursed to Ras El-Hekma Residents for Relocation

During a governmental meeting chaired by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, it was announced that over EGP 6 billion has been disbursed to the residents of Ras El-Hekma as part of the relocation process. Officials discussed compensation payments, demolitions and ongoing construction in the investment zone.

Discussions also covered Shams El-Hekma, the alternative housing area for relocated families, where utility networks, roads and housing construction are progressing. Officials reviewed an experimental school for relocated families and infrastructure plans for tribal communities in the southern alternative area. Land legalization procedures are underway, allowing eligible recipients to formalize ownership and obtain building permits.

Ras El-Hekma is a key part of Egypt’s urban expansion strategy, intended to develop the region into a centre for tourism and investments. The government continues to monitor the transition for residents while advancing infrastructure and construction efforts.
