Public Treasury Mints EGP 20 Million in Coins to Avoid Eid Shortage

The Ministry of Finance has confirmed that EGP 20 million in coins was issued ahead of Eid Al Adha in order to meet increased demand for small change during the period of holiday festivities. The uptick in use of small change is partly thanks to the greatly increased use of public transport during the holiday, as people across the country travel to visit friends and family.
