Ramadan Will Officially Begin on March 23rd

The National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics (NRIAG) in Cairo has announced that the holy month of Ramadan will begin on Thursday, March 23rd. According to their calculations, this date applies to Egypt and most of the countries in the Arab world.

The NRIAG has stated that the crescent moon will not be spotted at the sunset of the 29th of Sha’ban, which falls on March 21st this year. Therefore, the start of Ramadan will happen on March 23rd. They have also predicted that Eid El Fitr will begin on April 21st.

The final confirmation will be made by Dar Al-Iftaa on March 21st.
