'Rasayel El Bahr' Returns to Cinemas at Zawya
The acclaimed 2010 film, set in Alexandria, stars Asser Yassin and Basma.
Zawya Cinema in Downtown Cairo will be re-screening the acclaimed 2010 film, "Rasayel El Bahr", starting November 7th. It will be the first time in 15 years that the film, which stars Asser Yassin and Basma against the backdrop of a changing Alexandria, will be shown on the big screen. Directed by veteran Egyptian director Daoud Abdel Sayed, the film follows a young doctor named Yehya who leaves behind the medical world and decides to become a fisherman in his native Alexandria. The nostalgia-infused film was selected as the Egyptian entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the Oscars, and Yassin also won Best Lead actor awards for his role in the film at Carthage Film Festival and the Malmo Arab Film Festival. The first screening will take place on Friday, November 7th at 7 pm and 9:30 pm. Screenings will continue until Tuesday, November 11th.a
