Renowned Nikkei Restaurant 'Chotto Matte' Will Open in Riyadh
The Japanese-Peruvian fusion phenomenon seems to be building an empire, and Riyadh is next.
Chotto matte, Riyadh! A new culinary experience is coming your way. An exciting fusion of Japanese and Peruvian cuisine created in 2013, Nikkei restaurant Chotto Matte (a casual Japanese phrase which translates to “Wait a minute!”) is the brainchild of Kurt Zdesar, who previously worked for Hakkasan and Nobu.
With locations in London, Doha Miami, San Francisco and Toronto already, it seems Chotto Matte is building an empire. The restaurant offers a range of small plates, sushi, robata and dessert, made using premium ingredients only.
Examples include Jumbo Prawn Tempura (a crowd favourite), Amazonian BBQ Salmon (this one sounds hardcore), Black Cod Aji Miso (black cod sounds kinda mystical, no?), and Mochi Ice Cream (sorry, we’re teasing you now).
The exact opening date is yet to be confirmed, but our sources say that October will be the big month.
