Riyadh Metro’s Six Lines Are Now Fully Operational
With the launch of the Orange Line, the final phase of the Riyadh Metro is now complete.
The Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC) has announced that the final phase of the Riyadh Metro rollout will be completed today, January 5th, with the launch of the Orange Line (Line 3). This marks the full operational status of all six metro lines.
The Orange Line, spanning 41 kilometers, links the east and west of Riyadh, stretching from Jeddah Road to the second eastern ring road near Khashm Al-Aan. This milestone concludes the phased operation of the metro network, which began with the inauguration by King Salman on November 27th, 2024.
Starting today, passengers will be able to access the Orange Line at five stations: Jeddah Road Station, Tuwaiq Station, Douh Station, Harun Al-Rashid Road Station, and Al-Naseem Station, which serves as a transfer point to the Purple Line.
Additionally, three new stations on the Blue Line—Al-Morooj Station, Bank Al-Bilad Station, and King Fahd Library Station—will also begin operations, connecting Olaya Street to Batha.
The Riyadh Metro, the largest in the Middle East and the world’s longest driverless train system, spans 176 kilometers and features 85 stations with services running from 6:00 AM to midnight.
Passengers can book tickets via the Darb application, at station ticket offices, self-service kiosks, or through digital payment methods.
