Zohran Mamdani speaks Urdu, Spanish, Bengali, and now Arabic? The Democratic NYC candidate for mayor released a new video speaking in a Syrian accent.
Zohran Mamdani looks like your new brother in law from Damascus, or so the Democratic candidate for mayor of New York City says with a surprising Syrian accent. To promote his campaign, Mamdani has posted clips in Urdu, Spanish, and Bengali. And now, he just dropped a reel in Arabic that has been really going viral.
“My Arabic needs some work. Still, I would love to ask for your support on November 4th,” he said as New Yorkers prepare to head to the polls for the fast-approaching mayoral election.
Mamdani defeated former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo in the Democratic primary on June 24th, 2025 through a grassroots campaign powered by Gen-Z supporters and focused on affordable rent, free childcare, and better transportation.
